Even with teenage characters at the center, the narrative never slips into juvenile angst, carrying the weight, edge, and perspective of a suspense story meant for an adult audience.
The story moves at a steady pace and the short chapters make it fly by. The actual twist was considerably more grounded than the unhinged chaos I had built up in my head based on the last book of Erica Damon’s that I read, but the psychological tension makes it a sharp, fitting addition to the Seven Ways to Sin collection. It delivers the kind of bite you want from the series while keeping the story tight and engaging.
If you like quick-hitting thrillers, high school drama, and realistic teen suspense, then you will enjoy this book.
