Tricky Little Treat
Forget trick-or-treating. Forget haunted houses. This Halloween, I'm on the hunt. Not for candy, but for a killer who made the fatal mistake of making me his next target. My assignment is simple: track Caleb Ward, a rogue assassin with a penchant for murdering women who look exactly like me. The authorities are chasing shadows, unaware their phantom serial killer is a professional - and he’s getting dangerously close.
Niagara Falls on Halloween is a neon-soaked carnival of chaos, perfect cover for a killer. But when a routine intel drop turns deadly, my mission to hunt Caleb Ward twists into a desperate struggle for survival. He’s been planning this game for a long time, and I’m just one piece in his elaborate trap.
The hunt plunges me into the nightmarish reflections of a Halloween funhouse, where every shadow could be Caleb, and the screams aren’t just part of the attraction. In this razor-edged thriller, the monsters are real, the deadliest things wear familiar faces, and the hunter has suddenly become the most coveted prey.

Tricky Little Treat was such a fun addition to the Holiday Quick Kills series, and I loved how Joan De La Haye incorporated the Halloween holiday into the story. The quick pace made it easy to get caught up in, and the twist in the second half was a highlight for me. I’m looking forward to seeing how that development plays out in future books.
If you like Halloween thrillers and quick reads, then you will enjoy this book.
