Don't Ask Why is a fast-paced book driven by short chapters that keep the pages turning. The narrative unfolds in the present tense across multiple points of view, and I found most of the characters genuinely likable.
What drives the tension is when it becomes clear that every single character is hiding a secret, adding a layer of suspicion and intrigue to their interactions as the main mystery gradually unfolds.
While the book provides an engaging ride, the plot relies more on subtle, smaller twists rather than massive, jaw-dropping reveals. The suspense builds steadily throughout, though the final act does get a bit hectic as the threads rapidly pull together for an abrupt conclusion. Ultimately, it’s a quick, entertaining read that keeps the momentum going from start to finish. This book is great for anyone who likes the "trapped on an island" trope and characters that all have a secret.
