- Two men try to carjack the Bennetts.

- Jason had been working at Guantanamo Bay at the time, transcribing detainees’ interrogation tapes, and has a picture of himself and Ricks on the day Ricks was supposedly in the infirmary.

- Jason returns to the safe house, and Wiki tells him that Milo kidnapped Lucinda, Ethan and Dom.
- Wiki starts driving Jason to meet with the hostage negotiators, but Jason realizes Wiki is working with Milo and disarms him.
- Jason leaves Wiki on the road and drives off in the car.
- Jason hears on the radio that he is wanted in connection with Wiki’s death and assumes Milo found and killed Wiki.

Part two shifts into relentless tension, essentially becoming one long chase scene. Because the author sets up the reasoning for the dramatic shift so well, the transition into fast-paced action feels seamless. What makes the second half work is how Jason’s decisions as a desperate father remain grounded and believable rather than forced. A few well-placed twists in the second half shift the trajectory of the plot and force a total reevaluation of where the story is headed, maintaining momentum all the way through to the end.
