The Cure That Kills
Maura Powell is out of time. Her debilitating neurological illness has stripped her of everything except a desperate need for a cure. So when her friends discover rumors about Green Plain Regional - a long-abandoned hospital with a dark history of impossible recoveries - Maura takes one final, dangerous gamble. In a place where medicine thrives without oversight and isolation is the ultimate treatment, Maura's friends begin to disappear one by one. Now, she must face a horrifying truth: how far is she willing to go for a cure, and what if the price of her salvation is more than anyone should ever have to pay?

The Cure That Kills by Jeremy Fowler hooked me right away with its unique premise: a miraculous cure that comes at a terrifying cost. From the very first page, the story is drenched in an eerie atmosphere that lingers over the entire reading experience. The characters are well-developed and easy to root for, which raised the stakes for me as the plot grew darker.
The pacing is fast, maintaining a tight grip on your attention throughout. The twist at the end caught me off guard and provided a beautifully dark conclusion. It is a well-constructed, quick read that kept me engaged from start to finish. If you enjoy fast-paced, atmospheric thrillers with a touch of horror, I strongly recommend picking this one up.
