My Husband’s Wife
Eden Fox returns from a run to a living nightmare: her key doesn't fit, and her husband insists a stranger—who looks exactly like her—is his true wife. This impossible situation is inextricably linked to Birdy, a recluse who inherited the same house six months prior and stumbled upon a shadowy clinic predicting death dates. With two women claiming one life, secrets unravel in Hope Falls. Who is the imposter, and who will survive the truth?

- Birdy inherits Spyglass House from a grandmother she never knew.
- At Spyglass House, Birdy begins having memories of being there before.
- Birdy finds a letter from Thanatos stating they can predict your death date.
- October 30: Gabriella survived an accident at age eight. She was hit by a car driven by a police officer while riding her bike.

- Six months earlier: Birdy goes to Thanatos and receives her death date.
- October 30: Eden finds a phone in her car and receives a text she assumes is from Harrison, instructing her to meet on a clifftop.
- At the clifftop, someone pushes Eden off and she dies.

- Birdy moves to Hope Falls to live out her remaining time and becomes the new DCI there.
- Birdy begins investigating Eden’s possible suicide and the mysterious woman claiming to be Eden.
- Harrison never forgave Eden for putting Gabriella in the institution.
- Carter visits Gabriella and sees a nurse named Mary, whom he recognizes as Eden.

- After being mute for ten years, Gabriella tells Birdy what really happened the day of the accident: Gabriella saw Eden having sex with Harrison and threatened to tell Birdy, so Eden pushed her over the banister.
- Believing Gabriella was dead, Eden placed her in the road with her bike to stage an accident.
- For years Birdy believed she caused Gabriella’s condition, but Gabriella was already injured in the street and Birdy only hit her bike.
- Eden was Gabriella’s nanny at the time of the accident.
- Birdy used to be married to Harrison - she left after Gabriella got hurt, thinking they’d be better without her.
- Harrison invited Eden to move in with him and Gabriella to care for her and two years later they were married.
- Birdy wanted to push Eden off the cliff but by the time Birdy got to the top Eden was already gone.
- Birdy planned Eden’s death with Harrison and Mary. They hated Eden for what she did to Gabriella and wanted her to believe she was losing her mind before making her disappear without raising suspicion.
- Birdy overdoses on her cancer pills to commit suicide.
- One year later: Birdy’s cancer in remission.
- Carter rescued Birdy by calling an ambulance after she overdosed.
- Birdy and Sunday move into Spyglass house.
- Carter’s parents are back running The Smuggler's Inn.
- Harrison sold Thanatos and moved to Switzerland with Mary.
- Gabriella is living with Birdy at Spyglass House.
- Jane is the one who pushed Eden off the cliff because she previously saw Eden kissing Carter.
I went from intrigued... to confused... to absolutely flabbergasted!
Alice Feeney has completely outdone herself with this one. The story is expertly woven through multiple narrators and timelines that kept me constantly guessing. At first, I was just trying to piece the puzzle together, but the way the timelines eventually converge is masterful.
The book is incredibly fast-paced and easily kept my attention from the very first chapter. Just when I thought I had the mystery figured out, the ending hit me with some WOW twists that I never saw coming. This is a complex, layered mystery that is totally worth the read. If you love stories with multiple narrators and twists you won't predict, you need to pick this one up immediately!
