Made You Look
Sydney Kent is the definitive It Girl. She possesses the kind of magnetic charm, flawless hair, and effortless aesthetic that makes people desperate to either be her or date her.
But shining that brightly means everyone around her is left in the dark.
Caitlyn, despite all her social media savvy, finds it impossible to carve out her own identity outside of Sydney’s massive shadow. Even Lucy, Sydney’s childhood best friend from before the influencer fame, has been reduced to little more than her full-time personal photographer.
When the crew—including Sydney’s boyfriend Jeff, stylist Nash, and manager Brent—is invited to create content at an exclusive, remote retreat in the Catskills, it feels like the perfect chance to hit refresh. That is, until a brutal snowstorm strands them entirely, wiping out their cell service, Wi-Fi, and any chance of escape.
Then the first body drops, and their glamorous getaway spirals into a nightmare. As long-buried secrets, lies, and resentments boil over, the surviving friends are forced to confront a terrifying reality: the killer is almost certainly one of them. And the slaughter has only just begun.

Tanya Grant’s Made You Look is an engaging mystery that relies heavily on a deeply claustrophobic atmosphere to keep you on the edge of your seat. Told in the present tense and jumping between a few different perspectives, the narrative moves at a medium to fast pace driven by short chapters.
This book has a lot of red herrings which kept me guessing all throughout. Even with the sheer volume of distractions, the core twist is genuinely good and lands with a satisfying impact. The only real letdown is that the ending felt a little rushed and cut short, lacking the breathing room the rest of the book seemed to set up. Still, despite the abrupt conclusion, it’s a highly gripping read that completely held my attention from the first page to the last. If you love a snowed in or stuck in a cabin in the woods trope you will certainly enjoy this book!
