Bloody Little Clover
While most of Dublin is chasing luck and whiskey, I’m dodging double-crosses and a mounting body count. What should have been a clean hit turned into a lethal ambush, and now I’m the one with a target on my back.
Stuck in a deadly game of cat and mouse, my getaway to London is starting to look like a funeral procession. My employer didn't just give me a mission; they signed my death warrant—and I'm about to show them exactly how I handle a betrayal.
- Marin - Professional assassin
- Jane - Marin’s agent
- Flynn - Marin’s client
- Patrick Callahan - Marin’s target
- Marin meets Flynn at a bar, but his nervousness makes her suspicious that she’s about to walk into an ambush.
- Marin picks up the supplies she requested Flynn get her, then goes into the back room where Patrick is.
- Marin shoots Patrick twice in the chest and each of his bodyguards once.
- Flynn’s boss looks furious, making Marin realize she was set up by Flynn and that his boss did not approve the hit on Patrick.
- Marin flees to one of Jane's safe houses.
- Marin tracks down Flynn at a strip club where he is meeting with his boss.
- Jane shoots Flynn’s boss in the face and Flynn in the head.
- Marin goes to the dock to meet Jane’s contact who will get her out of Ireland.
- There are two men waiting there for her, and when they try to lock her in a shipping container, she stabs them both and shoves them inside.
- She grabs a hard hat to blend in with the other dock workers and finds an empty bed on the ship to sleep.
Joan de la Haye delivered another great addition to Marin’s list of adventures with Bloody Little Clover. Since these books are super short, they are perfect for a quick, high-tension fix, and this one leaned into a fun St. Patrick’s Day theme that kept things interesting.
